Substance Abuse

The Client is the reason we are here!

You might think there in no one to listen to you – but there is. At Desert View we treat teens and adults with chemical and alcohol dependency by focusing on the person, not the addiction. Our goal is to help you begin healing from emotional barriers that go with the addiction. We will give you specialized treatment in an environment where you can be yourself.

Chemical dependency can interfere with teens and their education as well as adults and their work, by losing their desire to perform at a level they normally would have. Many teens, adults and families do not understand why they or their loved ones continue to use drugs or drink; as a family you may not know how to talk about the disease together.

Desert View offers individual, family and teen group therapy that is designed to help break through the denial and learn to talk about the seriousness of the problem. From there, we help the client prepare for facing their own challenges on their own.

Everything people do is influenced by their feelings; we try to help teens or adults to understand their strengths and their weaknesses so they can avoid falling back into drugs and alcohol.

For more information on substance counseling and TEEN “NA/AA” call 505-326-7878.
