UPDATED FEBRUARY 3, 2012: Needed- Mental Health Therapist:

Desert View Family Counseling, Farmington, is seeking a mental health therapist to work with victims of trauma, physical abuse and sexual assault. We also work with “at risk youth” including parenting and foster families. This position is responsible for the coordination and implementation of clinical services to assigned clients and their families utilizing agency approved counseling techniques and strategies.

Daily activities consist of individual and family counseling, case management, crisis management, completion of required clinical and administrative paperwork, and authorization of services as necessary. Must have an LPCC, LISW, LMFT or LMHC licensure. Vacation, Insurance and competitive pay offered. 40 hours a week M-F or Part-time available. Possible flex schedule to include evening sessions if desired. Contract applicants welcome as well.

How can you help Sexual Assault Services of NWNM?

Sexual Assault Services of Northwest New Mexico is a sister organization of Desert View, offering Sexual Assault Nurse Examiner (SANE) services, as well as a safe space for survivors of sexual violence.

Sexual Assault Services of NWNM needs volunteers to provide emotional support and advocacy to survivors of sexual assault. Advocates participate in a 40 hour training course which prepares them to provide crisis intervention and advocacy services.

Volunteer advocates select their shifts on a monthly basis. Both female and male advocates are needed. Please call Sexual Assault Services of NWNM at 505-325-2805 for a current training schedule.

Desert View is partially funded by San Juan United Way, Farmington New Mexico.

Requirement for Services : Proof of income, proof of insurance, social security number and Medicaid information (If applicable) are required for intake. Desert View accepts Medicaid, private insurance and utilizes an income based sliding fee scale.

 

We have several funding sources that you or your family may be eligible for. Sources of Funding : DOH-BHSD (Department of Health Behavioral Health Services Division) CYFD (Children's Youth and Families Department), CBH (Children's Behavioral Health-Optum Health), VOCA (Victims of Crime Act), Daniel's Fund, BHP Billiton, Conoco Phillips, Farmington Municipal Schools and SJUW (San Juan United Way).
